Ahhh, Summertime! This dreamy and fluid song harks back to the days of The Summer Of Love. If you weren't there, then this will transport you there AND having you looking for a kite to grab and put it up in the wind.

This track was produced and recorded by Stephen Barncard at Wally Heider's Studio in San Francisco. It was recorded as a "first take" with NO rehearsal. Chet asked Zakir Hussain if he wanted to practice the track and Zakir said, "No, just start to play and I will follow along". The track came out perfect. I think we had to hold back the laughter

Children come from behind the rocks

Music, come from behind the wind

The wind holds up the kites in the county

So, won’t ‘cha

Come on, come on, come on, come on down

Tom’s kite is the highest above

Bob’s kite bears the symbol of love

Cathy’s kite is the most free in the sky

So, won’t ‘cha

Come on, come on, come on, come on down

I’ve been informed that the baker is dead

And that the banker has gone and lost his head

I think it’s clear that we should rule instead

So, won’t ‘cha

Come on, come on, come on, come on down

We’ve been here twenty minutes

Seems like a day

I’m alone on a string

Depending upon the wind

I’m relaxed but I feel I’m moving very slow

Am I? I don’t know

Am I? I don’t know

Am I? I don’t know

Now, come down, you can fly my kite

I built it in six hours last night

So that this wind could guide its virgin flight

So, won’t ‘cha

Come on, come on, come on, come on down

There’s a blue one with a long tail

Alone, on a string, depending upon the wind

Climbing, falling, dancing and laughing

So, won’t ‘cha

Come on, come on, come on, come on down
